Great Escarpment

The Great Escarpment, a mountainous escarpment in southern Africa, is a major geological formation in Africa. While it lies predominantly within the borders of Lesotho and South Africa, it also extends eastwards into Swaziland, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe,[1] and in form of a narrow belt northwards in Namibia and Angola.[2]

Several smaller landscape formations are part of the Great Escarpment, for instance the Drakensberg in Lesotho and South Africa, the Khomas Highland in Namibia, and the Serra da Chela in Angola.
